This lecture is designed for Muslims, highlighting the importance of propagating Islam to others especially in these times we are living in. Whether it be through our behaviour or actions, it is vital for Da'wah that we are very careful not to damage the image of Islam to the world. Another important aspect of a Da'ee (one propagating Islam) is having knowledge of Islam and also putting that knowledge into practise.

The Enemy Within

By Khalid Yasin. History in Islam has shown that when the true teachings of Islam are implemented within the Muslims and the Muslims are strongly united, they can never be defeated. However the only time Muslims are defeated is by the enemy within which is: disobedience to Allah and His Messenger and arguing over minor issues or differences, which leads to disunity. 21st Century Crusaders

This explosive new documentary investigates the current crusade being fought against Muslims in Iraq and Palestine. With a running time of 1hr 34m (approx) the film begins with exposing America’s ‘War on Terror’ as a front for its Crusade against Islam. In this section we are introduced to ex-Guantanamo detainee Moazzam Begg, Shaykh Ali Timimi (awaiting trial in U.S.) and Babar Ahmad (in UK prison).

In a highly emotive manner, the plight of Palestinians is looked at next. The oppressiveness of their lives is depicted for the viewer to witness and take heed. Consequently there will be none who view this and not be stirred by emotion.

The last third of the film is dedicated to the latest chapter in the Crusaders war: Iraq. The section looks at America and its dealing with Iraq and its citizens. It contains recent war footage from Iraq and uncovers the truth behind US casualties.

The Mercy of Allah through our Parents

Allaah mentions the command to treat parents well alongside the command to worship Him as He says (interpretation of the meaning): “And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents” [al-Isra’ 17:23] Obedience to parents is obligatory on the child with regard to that which will benefit them and will not harm the child. With regard to that which does not bring them any benefits or which will cause harm to the child, he does not have to obey them in that case. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in al-Ikhtiyaaraat (p. 114): A person is obliged to obey his parents with regard to that which is not sinful, even if they are immoral evildoers… This has to do with that which is beneficial for them and not harmful to him.

Fasting From One's Desires

So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan), he must fast that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number (of days which one did not fast must be made up) from other days. Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you. (He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allah for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him" [Soorah al-Baqarah (2):185]

Crucifixion or Cruci-fiction?

August 08, 2005 - Shaikh Ahmed Deedat - the debator, extraordinaire and founder of the Islamic Propogation Centre in South Africa, has passed away. He was bedridden after suffering a severe stroke in 1996, died this morning at the age of 87.

Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilayhe Raji'uun

"O Allah, forgive our people who are still alive and who have passed away, forgive those who are present here and those who are absent, forgive our young and our elderly, forgive our males and females. O Allah, the one whom you wish to keep alive from among us make him live according to Islam, and any-one who you wish to die from among us, let him die in belief and faith. O Allah, do not deprive us from his reward and do not put us in fitna (hardship or any type of trial) after his death."
